1) What are the Florida Wedding license requirements?

Getting married in Florida is easy. Out of state residents have no waiting period. You simply appear together at a Clerk of the Court office, present a photo ID, and pay the fee ($93.50) in cash. There are no blood test requirements. The license is issued at that time, is good that same day and for a period of time up to 60 days, and can be used anywhere in the State of Florida. It will need to be filed with the county of origin, but we take care of that on your behalf. Florida residents must complete a pre-marital counseling course or allow for a 3 day waiting period from application to license effective date.

3) Where can we have our Florida beach wedding ceremony?

Most often, the easiest and best option is to have the ceremony at your resort, hotel, or other accommodation. Generally, it is a little bit more private than going to a public area. However, there are also beautiful parks and beach accesses that are off the beaten track, so even if you aren’t staying on the beach, we can have a great location usually for a nominal site fee, sometimes as little as the parking fees. We work with you to determine the best location based on all the particulars concerning your wedding and how you envisioned this day to be. You have lots of options, and we’re here to help.

4) How many guests can we have at our beach wedding?

There really isn’t any restriction with regard to my services but some locations cannot accommodate certain size groups. Finding the right spot for your wedding group is part of how we can help make things go smoothly. Also, in the Florida wedding packages the photo package is determined by wedding size, so the Cherished Beginning would not work for a group over 10 or so.

5) Can you help us arrange our wedding reception, as well as accommodations for our guests?

Yes, we provide assistance with everything you could need – the first thing to do is determine the date and where you will have the wedding ceremony. Once that is established, we can move forward with plans for the guests. We’ll find a spot convenient to the wedding site that will offer group rates, get a block of rooms set aside, and your guests just book under your wedding group. This is a service that is provided at no charge once your deposit is received.

6) How does it all work………trying to plan a wedding in Florida while living in another state?

The first thing to do is go over all the things you want for your wedding with us, your Florida Wedding coordinator. That’s why we’re here – we do it all the time. This is best done with a personal phone call, so ideas can be discussed and pros and cons offered. You tell us what you want, and we contact the right vendors to make it happen.

Our years of experience and involvement within the industry keep us familiar with making your life easy. We work with the same people, over and over – because they are the best around. We become the point of contact and keep your time involvement and stress level to a minimum. We know what works and what doesn’t, and lots of ways to give you the wedding of your dreams while staying within your budget. We are always just an email away! If you don’t like the suggestions, we keep working until we find the right solution.

7) Do you only offer the Florida Wedding packages shown, or can you tailor one just for us?

We can definitely make the package to fit your needs and wants – generally we start with a package that is the right size for your group, then just add on the additional services. Just let us know what you want.

8) What if it rains?

I’m reluctant to say I’ve only been rained out once, but it’s true! I have done several in a light mist, but that was at the wishes of the couples who wanted their Florida beach wedding no matter what. But if the weather is starting to look bad, we will definitely have a plan B.

Generally, the best idea is to look at the place where you are staying or the reception site. They are very accommodating about rain options. We can find an inside space, a covered space outside, etc. If you want a firm rain backup plan, it can certainly be arranged. However, there is always a reservation fee that is not refunded if you don’t use the space. Either way, we work with you on the changes – are also willing to change the date, time, location - whatever it takes.

First, check out the Florida Wedding Packages page of my web site. It’s divided by general area, then has a list of samples of wedding and accommodation options, as well as some ideas for boat weddings. Then give us a call so we can check the availability for the hotel/resort as well as our own. In addition to what is shown, we have many other ideas not featured on the website and can always find just the right spot for you.

11) What about the ceremony and vows?

We have many different wedding ceremonies to choose from, and you will be given the opportunity to look them over and personalize your wedding vows if you choose. Some couples are happy with the ceremony and vows offered without changes. They have been written with a lot of love and are spiritual and romantic. You can add readings by friends or family, music, personal vows, etc.

If you want to plan a recommitment of your wedding vows, we also offer some wonderful vow-renewal ceremonies. This is an excellent way to celebrate an anniversary or just a way to say, “I still love you.

12) How do I get started?

Just give me a call! I love to discuss wedding plans, so we can go over your wishes and how we can work together to make your dreams come true. When you feel comfortable enough with me, and the variety of services that I offer, you will need to make a reservation for the date. At that time, we charge a $300 deposit. This reserve’s our services for that date, and we begin the coordination of the vendors at that time. It also reserves the photographer and florist. For that reason, this deposit is non-refundable.
